It's on October 10, 2010 - A CROP Hunger Walk is neighbors walking together
to take a stand against hunger in our world. Together we raise awareness and
funds for international relief and development, as well as local hunger-fighting. In 2009 we raised a total of
$29,295.31!
75% of funds raised are channeled to Church World Service to be used throughout the world in a variety of ways; these include accessing sanitation and fresh water, irrigation projects to enable successful farming, food packages, temporary shelter, nonfood supplies in flood ravaged areas, clean-up buckets for victims of floods both in the US as well as throughout the world, and much more. Go to CWS for a complete picture of how the funds we will raise will benefit our neighbors.
25% of funds raised will stay here in Asheville/Buncombe County to thwart hunger in our own community; MANNA foodbank, ABCCM, Meals on Wheels, and Loving Food Resources will divide the money equally to assist in their mission to help others.
