One important area tradition in Asheville and Buncombe County is the annual autumn walk to raise money to fight hunger and poverty around the world. For many years in our community, concerned citizens have demonstrated America's identity with the downtrodden and forgotten by walking in a spirit of concern, charity, and cooperation. This year's CROP Walk is scheduled for Sunday, October 16, 2011 . We hope you will return to this website for updates and information about how you can help in this project.

Last year's CROP Walk involved 28 organizations as well as numerous individual walkers who combined to raise over $25,000 for this cause. This year's walk is being planned to be bigger, adopt a target sum greater than last year's, and broaden the scope of participation throughout our community.
