One important area tradition in Asheville and Buncombe County is the annual autumn walk to raise money to fight hunger and poverty around the world. For many years in our community, concerned citizens have demonstrated America's identity with the downtrodden and forgotten by walking in a spirit of concern, charity, and cooperation. This year's CROP Walk is scheduled for Sunday, October 14, 2012 starting at First Baptist Church downtown Asheville at 2:00 PM.
If you have interest in this year's CROP Walk, please send a representative from your congregation or group to pick up walker registration forms and promotional materials during a short meeting on Thursday, September 6th. (6:00 PM – 6:45 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church; 10 N. Liberty St., Asheville)
Please RSVP for this meeting or let us know if you need to make other arrangements to pick up materials.
